View into the kitchen looking towards the backyard. This is the other side of the partial height wall that separates the kitchen from the living room.

Cabinetry is custom made by Capstone Cabinets in San Jose, and is faced with 1/2" solid core bamboo panels. This is cross-laminated solid bamboo. The drawers and interior structure is 9-ply maple-surfaced plywood, note the exposed edge at the far right. Drawer handles are extruded black-anodized alumninum by Hafele, flush-mounted with the cabinet surfaces.

A Bosch Integra 500 dishwasher is built-in to the right of the sink (recessed controls for a clean appearance), with slide-out pantry cabinets on the right. The upper cabinets feature sliding ecoresin Varia Moderna acrylic panels from 3Form, referencing the typical Eichler kitchen upper cabinets (color: "Atmosphere Stone 2", note that the color shown on the 3Form website is not at all accurate). Sliding doors are also more secure in an earthquake. Drawer pulls are matte black finish aluminum flush mounted. Backsplash tile is identical to the flooring but uses 8" x 16" pieces. Faucet is the KWC "Eve" model, sink is by Blanco.

To the right of the sink is a concealed "appliance garage" designed to conceal countertop appliances that are used frequently (photo below). The tray they sit on can slide out over the counter.
