The House | 2006 Interior Remodel

This diagram shows the new kitchen in the left rear corner of the house. It connects directly to the new dining room area as well as through sliding glass doors to the outside patio eating area. It is separated from the new living room in the center of the house by a partial height (7 ft.) wall.

At the far end of the dining room, a built-in desk / workspace will be partitioned off from the dining area by a 5 1/2 ft. high, 8 1/2 ft. long, free-standing bookshelf. In addition to moving rooms around, we are replacing all the flooring throughout the house with 16" black slate tiles, restoring the hallway walls and one living room wall with mahogany paneling (other walls will be sheetrocked and painted), and replacing all the original single pane glass and sliding glass doors with double-pane "low E" glass. We are not touching the radiant heat system, as it works fine. Most of the electrical wiring will be left as is, but we are installing a new 200A electrical circuit panel, replacing the original 100A unit.

Besides moving the kitchen, dining, and living room locations, the other major change is in the master bathroom. View a detail of the master bathroom.
